EmpowHER Monthly: Conquering Fear

As everyone is jumping on board with setting goals and resolutions, we are forced to ask ourselves: why do 80 percent of New Year’s resolutions fail by February? Fear. Fear of commitment, fear of releasing parts of our identity, fear of letting go, fear of change. Don’t let fear continue to determine the path of your life.

We’re starting 2019 off by conquering fears! Join us at Chile’s on East Bay, the site of the inaugural EmpowHERment meeting last May, for EmpowHER Monthly: Conquering Fears. We’ll be hearing from two incredible women, Tracy Carter and Angel Green, so come prepared to be inspired, changed, and moved.

We’ll be set up in the private dining room at Chile’s; just drop the name EmpowHERment at the hostess stand. We recommend bringing a notepad and pen for notes. We’ll see you there!

EmpowHER Monthly: Giving Back

Christmas and the holidays are not about receiving: they are about giving. Giving our presence. Giving our kindness. Giving our time. Giving our love.

At our last meeting, we announced the family and child EmpowHERment is sponsoring for the 2018 holidays. One-year old Noah has had it rough in his short amount of time on Earth, and we are committed to making sure he is showered in our love and generosity for Christmas.

Join us at Gina’s home in Safety Harbor to wrap Noah’s gifts, write his card from all of us, and bake cookies! We’ll have some snacks and refreshments, but feel free to bring anything you’d like to eat or drink! After we’re done wrapping, we’ll take a trip together to Noah’s home to deliver his gifts.

If you’d like to sign up to purchase one of Noah’s gifts or provide a gift card donation to help with gift purchases, you can do so by clicking below!

EmpowHER Monthly: Giving Thanks

This time of year is one of the busiest times, but don't forget to take time to slow down and practice gratitude for all the good in our lives.

Come celebrate with us by giving thanks for the women in our lives. This month is a casual Thanksgiving potluck! Our awesome guest speaker, Candiss Pelham, will be speaking about the value of giving back and being thankful for the people in our lives.

The potluck will be at SPC Clearwater in room ES324! We will provide the drinks (both alcoholic and refreshments) and utensils. You bring your favorite dish to share! Cheers to food, friends, and gratitude!

EmpowHER Monthly: Vision Boards

If you attended our EmpowHER Monthly meeting on Goals last month, then you already know about the power of visualizing your goals. But, visualization - seeing things in your mind - doesn’t come easy to all of us. A vision board is a representation of the goals you want to achieve.

Join the EmpowHERment crew for a vision board party at Eagle Lake Park in Largo Shelter #2! We will provide the snacks, drinks, glue sticks, scissors, and the boards to glue all your clippings to. All you'll need to bring are few magazines, photographs, and/or printed pictures/quotes from the Internet. The sky is the limit - this is YOUR vision board!

Creating a vision board is an exercise in thinking beyond what you believe is possible. You may not think that a beachfront home or a fit body is an attainable goal for you. Vision boards allow you to open yourself up to the opportunities to make those thoughts and dreams actually happen over time.

Clearwater Beach Cleanup

Part of our mission at EmpowHERment is to give back to our community, both locally and globally. Our environment depends on our active participation in helping keep it clean of our waste. Every year, anywhere from 5 to 13 million metric tons of plastic winds up in our oceans. Our impact might be tiny, but it is huge to our local community.

Meet us at Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach to pick up trash along the beach! Please bring sunscreen, a hat, a reusable water bottle, and wear closed toe-shoes. Gloves, bags, ice water, and snacks will be provided.

We will have a beach day afterwards, so those who can come, bring your beach stuff. To those who can't attend the clean up, but can meet up afterwards, come on out!

EmpowHER Monthly: Self-Love

Self-Love is the most important kind of love there is. Self-love is a popular term today that gets tossed around in normal conversation, but do we really practice it? As women, we tend to be caregivers and forget about the importance of taking care of ourselves. Self-love breeds self-confidence, self-worth, and self-forgiveness. Join us for a spirited talk about self-love, guided by our Guest Speaker, Tracy Carter.
